Trash Can

Being new to the mac and then having the newest version of OS 10, I have a problem. Somehow I have lost the ability to move ANYTHING into the trash can for deleting. This is true of ALL items, whether on the dock or else where. The darn thing just refuses to open up :Grimmace:

Can't you just drag files over the icon to delete them.

Are you getting any error messages, not sure about Leopard, sorry, but assume the trash works the same as in Tiger

Welcome to Mac-forums, traveler01. And Merry Christmas!

Download MainMenu from Santa Software. Install it. It will appear as a small + (plus) sign inside a rectangle in your menubar. Use the Cleaning tasks: Clean User Cache -> All Users and System Cache -> Deep Clean.

Restart by holding down the Shift key which makes you boot into Safe Boot mode. Log in your user account. Restart normally. See if you can now empty the trash.
