Ipod Freezing at apple logo screen PLZ HELP!!!

My iPod has been frozen on the logo screen forever! it drains the battery, so i plug it in and it tells me to wait. then I try a reset...frozen.
Neither finder or itunes recognizes it via USB or Firewire
any ideas???

I had no clue where to post this thread but it happened after updating to leopard and connecting my iPod video, so if a moderator could move it to the proper place that'd be a big help
