I've seen a few rumours about 10.5.2. One thing that is known is that the update weighs in at about 400MB (from the developer seeds released recently), and there are a few rumours about huge performance gains for Intel based machines.

It also looks as though Apple may have listened to users in regard to the Dock. Check this out, looks very good to me.

Well if this is true it'd be very good. I agree. Seems Apple just might be listening to the users in developing it's dot releases. Just can't wait for this one.

Now just fix the identical-looking folder icons, and give us an off-switch for the translucent menu bar, and you'll get my $130.

What do you mean, "identical-looking folder icons"?

Well the default folder icons for Movies, documents and others look very much the same when in small size. However, Mr. technologist, you can very well change those default icons and turn off the menubar transparency so how about forking out that $130 now eh?

I hope those Dock pics are genuine, it looks great. The new Dock doesn't impress me at all, and I haven't even got Leopard yet. Removing features from the old one was just plain dumb.

I hope those features are true. Will stop a lot of whiny snitches from doing what they do best.... whine...

@powerbookG4: Yes, you can turn off transparency with a small little terminal hack.

I think you're being a bit harsh, there - I considered leopard's Dock to be broken as soon as it was released, and I haven't even used it. Stacks was flawed for many people, whining or otherwise.

I had seen the hack to turn the Dock back to non 3d but not the bar up top. Could you give a URL for those that do not like the transparency in the top toolbar?

I like it but so many others do not. I do agree that Stacks could better and if this is true about 10.5.2 we will soon get our wish.

I agree - it's a shame as well because the rest of the OS is smokin'

For some reason, the little Meatwad icon in the screenshots just cracked me up!

Oh, and the Dock stuff is nice too.
