How to make Safari 3 crash under Leopard (happens for me everytime):
1. Go to www.osxbook.com
2. Click on buy
3. Click on the Amazon link.
4. Safari pauses and then crashes, prompting to send an error report to Apple.

Crashed but the interesting thing is, I opened it in Camino and it was fine so I pasted the resulting URL into Safari and it opened. It's something that redirects to the final URL that is causing Safari 3.0.4 in 10.5.1 here to crash and burn.

Sorry that I had it in the wrong forum- what's weird is that I have no add-ons at all. Perhaps it's malformed javascript at work here?

Yup, crashed for me (Tiger/PPC)

Try this, too:
1. Visit http://news.netcraft.com/
2. Enter a URL into the "What's that site running?" box and press Return

I don't see the point in checking netcraft- the issue shouldn't have anything to do with the hosting company's OS that they're running.

No, that's not what I was saying...I meant that Netcraft's site also crashes Safari in the same way on my system....

It's not netcraft that crashed it but rather something on macosxbook.com that was checked by netcraft, in the same manner that the ad on macosxbook.com crashed Safari. Something's going on with that site.

An Update....

Apple just did a re-release on Security Update 007-009 that was released the other day. It's now called 007-009 v1.1. It address Safari crashes on certain sites. I can go to the OP's URL now time after time and no more crash clicking the buy and Amazon URL's. They say the 007-009 caused crashing issues with some sites. It's fixed for me now.

That update fixed the issue- thanks guys. I hadn't even noticed it sitting out there ready to be downloaded.
