Im looking for good FTP client for mac.

Im currently using cyber duck, but im not to keen on the interface. I dont like the way that it shows the contents of a server in alphabetical order and the folders are not grouped together. I also dont like the way that the client only shows you whats on the server and there is no other half to the application that shows you what is on your own system.

I just use the FireFTP extension on Firefox. I use it to test webpage designs and what not so my browser is already opened, just in a different tab ;)

If you can't or don't want to afford Transmit, you can use Wget in the command line to synchronize. It's hella fast.

Interesting to read on the Apple Developer connection site that the developers of Transmit say that the FTP code within Coda is better than Transmit and that future versions of Transmit will use the Coda code.

I am using Cyberduck as my ftp and ssh client. It's free, simple to use and works realy great.

I just finalized a delta-synchronization script for wget and made it an automator workflow. Now backing up a remote site is as easy as a click in the menu bar. Time Machine handles the versioning. Mac is wonderful.

I can't change file permissions on remote files using cyberduck. I have the latest nightly build, and the latest version of leopard.

I guess ill try the other suggestions above, but if anyone knows how i can fix my issue with cyberduck i would like to know :)

'latest nightly builds' are not finished products. it could be that changing permissions is not working in that build. You should try the latest released version instead.

I don't know about anybody else. I just use the ftp that comes with the system. I have never used a GUI with ftp. I know there are some advantages when it comes to downloading directories, but that has never been a problem for me.
