Hey everyone,

I've had my MacBook Pro for about a month and a half. Earlier today I was looking at the computer from the side (I was sitting in a chair across the room) when I thought the 'lid' looked kinda funny. Upon further inspection, the lid seems to be bowed out. The lid is close ("tight") to the rest of the computer where the little hooks and button are, but as it gets out to the edges the gap gets bigger and bigger. Hopefully you know what I'm talking about, lol.

Is this normal or is the shape of mine somehow deformed? I can take a picture if that would help!

Take a picture, mine is somewhat un-even but not really significant.

I'm kind of embarrassed to say this, but this really drives me nuts! Is it worth bringing to the genius bar for?

That looks pretty much like mine, and it also looks like the old PowerBook G4 I use at work... Seems "normal" to me.

Ok, but I spent $3500 on it, LOL. Seems like for that much money it shouldn't look like that after a month of use!

It is like that for alot of people, also when its open can you push one of the sides down and get a squishy responce? I hate to say it but search the threads and youll most likely find this issue.

Then again i am human and could be wrong.

I had a problem with my mbp not closing tight. I stopped by the Apple Store and they sent it off and it arrived at my doorstep two days later. Works great now. Mine was 9 months old.
I'd send it in or take it to an Apple Store.

Oh, ok. Thanks everyone. I thought I'd look like an idiot if I went down to the Apple store about this but I guess I'll put it on my to-do list. The store here in NYC is a nightmare though... heh.

mine is pretty much even
it actually looks like the sides of the screen are lower at the edges and not at the latch
