About microphone

Yesterday I bought a mic is not a machintosh mic it´s a pc mic and doesn´t work.
Can someone give a hand on that??
Should I buy a macintosh one??

what make of mic is it

The port you think is a mic port is actually a line in, and therefor needs a powered mic. I am assuming you're trying to use one of those cheap ones that comes with PCs? You will either need to buy an amplifier to use it, but I can't see spending that kind of money to get a low quality mic to work so go buy yourself a USB mic.
