ftp program

Is there an ftp application that actually works out there ?

I bought Interarchy and it's pants. Cyberduck works some of the time as does Secure ftp and fetch BUT they all time out and fail.

The "must" be one thats rock solid surely ?.

Transmit from Panic is really good....

I've never had Cyberduck time out on me. What kind of files are you uploading and what sort of hosting/connection/server are you running?
That would have more to do with it than the actual software you are running.

I am trying to create backups from a forum I run.

Cyberduck works 99% of the time for me... although a bit slow.

Then you always have bulletproof ftp through the Terminal

Whats this & how does it work ?

CyberDock never let me down. The only thing Transmit does more is that you can script Transmit's synchronization with Automator.

If you start up Terminal and type "ftp", you get the non-gui version that pretty much any OS out there have integrated (Windows, Linux, Unix...), and that any GUI client is based on.
