Making a bootable Disk

Ok I have a problem. I have an old iMac G3 that has linux (Kubuntu) on it. I have 10.4 on my pc stored as .dmg files. Now I've tried burning them on directly to a CD, converted to .iso format and I cannot get the disk to boot. So if someone could help me or direct me on how I can get the .dmg files to a CD to boot on the iMac.
