Hello All,
I use my Macbook Pro mainly at my house and my girlfriends house, it was all fine for about 2 months, I would simply walk in, open the laptop and be ready to go, but just recently I have had to change the password on the Router and now, whenever I try to login using the simple dialogue box i just get 'Connection Timeout'..

So I have to go into Network Preferences, Press Assist Me, Run a Diagnostic, Change the Password Type from 'WEP Password' to 'WEP Encryption/128-bit' and then type in the password..

All works perfectly after that..

If anyone knows how to fix this odd problem, they are a better man than I am.

Thanks,
Lewwy.

Advise your girlfriend that her network is not as secure as she might think. WEP encryption is obsolete and can be defeated very easily. If the router supports it, switch it to WPA security instead. That will be doing her a favor as well as (likely) fix your problem.
