24'' iMac 2.8 GHz, 4 Gig RAM, 500 GB HD. 15.4'' MBP, 2.6 GHz, 4 Gig RAM, 200GB HD, iPhone 8GB.
I am considering changing my 15.4'' to 17'', so I went to Apple store and took a look at the 17'' MBP, this machine is awesome and the display is set at 1900 X 1200, I realized that the words are not smaller every where. While I know how to adjust the words below the icons to make it bigger, but I really don't know how to make the words bigger in the menu bar, in the menu bar of safari, menu bar every where, does anyone here know how to do it?

You could change the screen resolution somewhere in the preferences (I can't recall where on OS X).

Making the screen-resolution numbers smaller increases the size of everything, including the type in the menu bars.

^^ Seriously? using anything other than the native resolution makes the whole thing look really blurry on an LCD screen.

However, the 17" macbook pro comes in two resolutions. Get the one with 1680*1050 and you should be fine.

Not true at all, if you get the 17'' with 1900 x 1200 and you use it under 1680 x 1050 everything will be blurry as well. Changing the font size is the only method, I guess?

Maybe I'm just lucky. I've never had that problem on my Samsung 19" LCD.
Maybe you need to get your eyes checked or something? Cause it is guaranteed that if you run it at a resolution lower than the native resolution, it will look blurry. Maybe you don't know what your native resolution is, and have been running it non native all along...:)

I think he meant get the MBP 17" which comes with a 1680*1050 native resolution. It is actually I think $200 cheaper than the 1920*1200...
