iMovie and AVI????

For some reason when I import avi videos into iMovie HD, the video is blank. The same thing happens when watching videos w/ quicktime but I got VLC so that's allright.

Is there any codec I have to download? the videos are something.xvid.avi

Or is there any better video editing software for mac????

Get the codec pack called Perian. That should solve your problem.

I have the same problem and downloaded Perian. I can now view .avi file. Thanks Kash.
