I recently got an external hard drive -- the Maxtor OneTouch III Mini.
After using it for a couple months, I realized that it would be much more useful if I could use it via my FireWire port rather than USB (two USB ports actually b/c it needs the extra power). Is there any cable that would connect the 5-pin USB mini port on the hard drive to the FireWire port on my MacBook? If so, would my external hard drive even work?

Thanks

Your Mac's Specs
iMac Core Duo 20", iBook G4, iPhone 8GB :)
If your external does not have Firewire, then I don't think so. They are two entirely different technologies. And even if there were a converter, it would surely suffer in terms of performance.

Better get yourself a firewire external casing from somewhere cause Firewire is so much faster than USB...
