Converting Movie Files to DVD

Have you tried importing the videos into iDVD? I think I tried it once and it worked fine. The only thing you need is the codec for the video you wish to import, so if you have Perian installed, you're covered.
If you don't want to use iDVD, then give ffmpegX a look. It gives you several options to convert to DVD.
