Got the mac/windows driver burned to a CD, partition done, re-booted with my windows XP cd in the driver. The blue screen comes up and starts installing by itself and then all of sudden it says,

"The file fdc.sys is corrupted. Press any key to continue"

I press a key and nothing. It's frozen. The only way to turn off at this point is to take the battery off of my macbook. Somehow (I don't know how) I managed to get the CD out when I turned my mac again.

what is fdc.sys (Floppy Disk Controller) and any lead on what I can do from here? any suggestion/input is appreciated.

Your Mac's Specs
iMac Core Duo 20", iBook G4, iPhone 8GB :)
(To force shut down, you press and hold the power button for 5 secs)

I'd say try a different CD.

skip the file? there's no option here...

reboot the computer with the windows CD in and it does the rest by itself. the installation process is stalled at the prompt of this message- 'file fdc.sys corrupted'. I can't do ANYTHING from here except to force shutdown and reboot (same result with every reboot)
