stiff button

Whenever I use my laoptop with the battery in the button is very very stiff to the point where i cant push it down at all, it still works but it just doesnt feel right and I wanted to know if this was normal.

no button should be so 'stiff' that you can't push it

Do you mean you can't put your battery completely into your laptop? Is your battery "swollen"? You might have a defective battery - if so, call apple and tell them and they will replace it free of charge.
