I just got an imac 20" with a 500 gb internal drive.
I have 166 gigs of music which is directed towards itunes.
I have 15 gigs of photos which are directed towards iphoto.
And I have about 120 or so gigs of home movies stored in my movies folder.
Right now it all fits on the mac hd with about 110 gigs to spare. I likely won't be adding all that much music or all that many pictures particularly as those represent literally decades worth of music and pictures. However, both of those are the things I'll probably be referencing and using the most so I'm assuming it makes the most sense to keep them on the internal drive.
I've read it's best to keep movies on an external firewire drive, which I could easily do. However, I like having access to them when I use Front Row and that I believe requires them to be in the Movies folder on my desk top.
Any particular recommendations on this front?
