Hi there,

I am attempting to change a folder icon to a small jpeg. I know how to do it but now that I've cut and pasted the image into the info panel the image does not appear but a generic jpeg image. See below.

icon-20071206-194421.jpg

Can anyone help?

You'll have to actually open up the picture in a viewing or editing program first. Do this:

Open your picture in Preview.
Once open, click once on the picture to ensure it is "active", then press CMD-A (Select All). Then press CMD-C (Copy).
Now paste into the info box of your folder and you should see it.

Yes you can use a .jpg. Follow the steps exactly as I set forth earlier.

A PNG is recommended cause it supports transparency. Otherwise Jpeg is fine.

yea... just follow his steps
there is no need to download apps to do something so easy and 'do-able'

when you select just the icon of the picture -you get the generic jpg thing
you actually need to select the picture in preview
