I plan on buying a macbook soon. I am wondering if the yellow discoloration problem has been solved.

And if not, for those of you who have sent it in either through apple care or standard warranty.... does the problem recur? or is it solved foreverrrr!!!!!

Thanks in advance.

Ya, but having to CLEAN your laptop so often. I have a black laptop now and hardly need to clean it.

This color issue alone is making me want to get a macbook pro =/

I believe the yellow discoloration problem has already been fixed by Apple.

Can anyone confirm this? Have they indeed fix the yellow discoloration?

Any new macbook white owners or those that have had it for a few months?

Which version is considered "old" and which is "new"... Is "new" the mid november released macbooks?

Because the ones I see at the store are just horrible and yellow. They have tiger, so maybe they are the "OLD" ones, even if they are only 1 month old.

That article I linked you was from June 06.

Discoloration is not an issue anymore. I have a Macbook a couple months old and no problems. Just the occasional dirtiness.

Take my word for it or don't.

My mum just bought a new santa rosa Macbook. The palmrest appears to have a different variety of plastic than the rest of the case, not as opaque and glossy as the rest..maybe that's the difference from the early Macbooks.

Thats nice that they changed the Palmrest. But how about the keyboard? Didn't that part used to turn yellow as well?
