Printer Only Prints Color

Hi, I have a new HP Deskjet 5940 and I have all the cartridges they gave me installed but the problem is it only prints color - no black. Anyone know what's going on? Could I just have a faulty cartridge?

Have you looked in your printer settings? There should be an option for B&W or Grayscale. When you hit the print button, a dialog box comes up -- try looking around in there.
