Question: purchased imac with 2.8 intel core 2 extreme
About this Mac states: 2.8 intel core 2 duo
Apple states: just a typo, it says duo, it is really the extreme

Anybody else seen this?

"core 2 extreme" is still a dual core processor, i dont see anything wrong by it saying "duo" instead of "extreme"

Your Mac's Specs
Al iMac 20" 2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
Extreme is just marketing spiel. I believe it's just a Core2Duo which has been unlocked for overclocking. But you won't be doing much of that in a Mac.

iMac 20", 2.4 ghz, 4gb RAM, 500gb HD + IEEE 1394b 500gb external
There are two versions of the Core 2 Extreme. There is the dual core edition and there is the quad core edition. The 24" iMac comes with the dual core processer.
