Hello everyone,

Recently my Mac is misbehaving:Smirk:
Yesterday the screen went dark-grey and it says the system needs to be shutdown in about 3 to 5 different languages and of course shut itself down. This happened again a month ago.

Can somebody please tell me what's wrong with my computer?
Why is it doing that?
The computer is a G5, Version: 10.4.11.

Any suggestions please?

Thank you guys!!

Do you have an Intel Mac Pro or a PowerMac G5? Have you gone through disk utilities and done a permissions repair?

You experienced a kernel panic.

We need more details to be able to help you.

- Is this an iMac G5 you have?
- A PowerMac G5?

Post the complete specs please.

And did you change anything before this started happening? Like:

1- Did you install new RAM?
2- Did you add a peripheral?
3- Did you change anything in your user account?
4- Did you install new software? Or an update?
5- What have you done on your own so far in terms of troubleshooting?

I had this same problem with my ibook when i first got it, it costantly got the Kernel Panic. After many times of this happening i just tried booting off the installation disc, and going through the os x setup again. Haven't had a problem since.

Try and give the info MacHaedCase is asking for.

If it is hardware, then figure out what has changed.

Also set up a new user account if you haven't already and see if the kernal panics happen in the new user.
