quick question on the random shut down problem

Lately, I am getting random shut downs on my macbook. About once every few days. I got it in June 2007. I just downloaded the new EFI firmware 1.1. Now, I know apple says that SMC firmware 1.1 is needed to fix this problem, but If I am up to date with EFI 1.1, I should have had SMC 1.1 on the macbook already?

If that is true, and this keeps up should I bring it into apple? should I also try reseting the pvram?


I am running OS X 10.5.1, btw.
I have never upgraded anything in the macbook as well

You could try resetting the PRAM, you have nothing to lose by trying that. If it doesn't work and the firmware update has been installed and it's still acting up, definitely take it back to Apple.
