I was curious where i can find a good activity monitor that shows live feed with out having to open the application in a window, like a icon on the top next to time and date?

There are a few Widgets and MenuBar items that have all sorts of monitors on them. Do a search on www.versiontracker.com and you should find some.

iStat Menus from iSlayer.com should be just the thing you want. It is a freeware program that carries almost all of their widgets' features and rests up on the menu bar.

Her is a direct link to the program website: http://islayer.com/index.php?op=item&id=28

MenuMeters (http://www.ragingmenace.com/software/menumeters) is excellent. It places a variety of real time updating meters into your menu bar: CPU, network traffic, memory, etc. Very configurable, and always visible. Very, very nice.
