the film is based on His Dark Materials by philip pullman is it not? if so why have they changed the title and is the story the same?

His Dark Materials is the series. The first book being The Golden Compass. It's called Northern Lights in the UK.

Well I ended up a lion, which i am pretty happy about. I am not a big fan of Nicole Kidman, but I will prob still see it.
