Heres one for you.
On my MBP, if say on a web page or anything else for that matter your looking at the screen and can see the cursor, then you press one of the arrow keys to scroll etc, then you touch the track pad, the cursor will NOT appear if you touch the track pad on the left and right verticle edges but WILL show immediatley if I touch it in the middle of the track pad. Any ideas please ?

Yes it annoys me.
But I have found the solution, go to mouse/trackpad setting & uncheck the ignore accidental trackpad. Its then perfect.
