3rd party sata controller drivers

Is there such thing as a 3rd part sata controller drivers? I bought a sata controller that the guy said it was for mac and pc but VIA doesn't list drivers for it on there website and cd doesn't have any included for mac...any ideas?

Do you have a model number and brand of the SATA card? Where did you purchase this? Have a URL?

I think you are out of luck, unless you just install it and see what happens

Lowendmac has a few articles on SATA cards, they list OWC as a low cost compatible card

Agreed with louishen. Only thing is I have found the OWC cards are not cheap, that is for sure but they do work and well.

Yep - they aren't cheap

I gave up in the end and realised an external Firewire or USB 2 disk would be much cheaper

why are they so much more expensive then a pc?

My Guess? Because few will purchase them. Only people with older Macs mostly. Just a guess.
