Apart from the networked computers just showing up in the finder sidebar, I had a nice experience today.
I connected my two macs using Airport wireless and then began a file transfer. After doing so I realised it's going to take me a long time to transfer those files. So I fished out a network cable from somewhere and plugged it into both the Macs. Immediately, I noticed, the "Time Remaining" cut down to 1/4th of the previous time. It automatically recognised that Ethernet is faster and switched to that. Mindblowing!
I would say I'm a seasoned mac user, but stuff like this keeps pleasantly surprising me!
