The bottom connection port on my ipod is gummy and nasty. The ipod has been freezing and acting strange especially when it is plugged into my car charger. Is there any way to clean out the bottom connection chip? Thank you for time.

Have not tried this, primarily because I haven't had the need to clean mine.
But if I did, would use a Q-tip and alcohol (the kind that's probably sitting in your medicine chest). It dries/evaporates very quickly. Make sure you turn off the iPod first.
Have also used cologne for stuff like this when I was out of alcohol. But make sure it is primarily alcohol.
And not sopping wet, just damp. And don't turn it back on until dry.
