Hey,
I am pretty new to Macs, so I am not sure how this could happen. After upgrading to Leopard, my Macbook Pro has has run fine for the past few weeks. However, I restarted my computer today and noticed that all of the files on my desktop were missing and that I had the default Leopard dock items. It turns out that not only were my files gone, but all of my programs had been uninstalled. That is, when I clicked on the icon in my apps folder to open it, it was as if I was just installing it for the first time. All of my browser histories have been erased, for the browsers too were acting as if they were being opened for the first time. Strangely, my computer still remembered my printers, network passwords, and files I had saved in a folder on my hard drive, but everything else seems to have disappeared. Can anyone provide assistance or at least explain what has happened? Thanks in advance.
