I probably should have been more specific.

Progress indicators like hourglasses and stopwatches are being replaced by rotating circles everywhere

I think they got bored with the old loading stopwatch on the OS 9 and pre days and spiced it up to look like a beachball or fancy coloured disc.

I think next they should have a pizza being made. The spinning crust and then sauce and the cheese and the pepperoni and then the program is ready to start.
