Since upgrading to Safari 3 (not by choice btw), I have noticed an odd problem that only happens with M-F.

If I close Safari and then reopen it, all the threads that were previously read are marked as unread again. Now I could blame this on Safari, but it ONLY does it in M-F. Other forums using the same forum software don't have this issues nor do other forums with different software.

Is anyone else seeing this?

The only way I can get it to not do this is to:

A: Select "Mark Forums as read"

B: Go to another web site and THEN close Safari.

This also happens in FireFox 2 as well.

I got that here with Tiger and Safari 2 also. All the threads I have read before I left are new again with the same last message as before I left.

Ok, so it's not just me. Does it happen elsewhere (other forums) for you?

I would occasionally get it with Safari 2 and Tiger, but now it is constant.

It does not seem to happen on the other forum that I am a member of. They use the same software but not sure if it's the same version.

When I'm here, I open each thread I'm interested in, in a new Tab. Sometimes there could be up to 8 Tabs open and when I'm finished and click on the "Get New" button it shows that there are no new threads to view.

I have to go to Home then Get New before the new threads appear.

And I thought it was a problem with Opera!

Have just been living with it. Have not done any experimentation to see when it occurs nor how to alleviate it.

When it does it here it does it in Firefox, Camino, Opera, Safari and on both OSX and XP.
