Does Changing the RAM yourself void your warranty?

The guy at the Mac store said it did, but there is instructions on how to do it on Apple's website. :|

(I forgot to mention that I'm talking about changing the RAM yourself)

Well when the Mac guy says doing it yourself voids the warranty you want a little more than search. Does anyone know of any sort of link? For confirmation?
