updating OS X?

okay.. my powerbook G4 has mac OS X 10.2.8..

now.. how do i update to 10.3? do i need to buy the software?

okay thanks.. that's really what i wanted to know.. my friend thought going from .2 to .3 would be just like an easy update.. but i thought otherwise..

another thing, i have the software for os x 10.4.. but it's the CD that came with my moms macbook.. and i have a powerbook g4.. will this software not run on my computer?

No.

The restore disks are hardware specific i.e. those disks will only work on the same model of MacBook.

Your Mac's Specs
Al iMac 20" 2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
Get 10.4 instead of 10.3 if you can.

I would vote for 10.4 also. You need the black install disk. The gray ones are machine specific. So if you go to eBay make sure you get the right ones!
