I'm looking to build a USB 2.0 external drive for a future Macbook. I want the fastest hard drive I can get (without unnecessarily going faster than the USB 2.0 port and creating a bottleneck, of course). Any suggestions on what format (PATA, SATA, SCSI, ABC, XYZ, 123) I should look into? I need at least 500GB.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
edit: I just encountered another problem. I guess all 3.5" drives need a power source that isn't the USB cord? This is something I cannot do because I will have to bring the notebook between two houses and school on a daily basis. I need something that I can plug in and use, with lots of storage. HELP! Any ideas?? 1 3.5 drive with all my stuff and a smaller 2.5 for carrying around daily?
