Macbook. The cheapest white one.
Love my Macbook, after using Windows computers since 1948 or so.

But, the big problem I have is making the transition into editing and creating webpages on the Mac. The problem is, I have several websites, all very large, some around for as long as 10 years. I did most of them with FrontPage, which is now defunct.

What's the Mac software of choice for website design? I don't do elaborate websites. Fairly simple stuff.

I tried Nvu but just can't take to it.

Thanks,

Dale

You've got a MacBook, it includes iLife ('06 or '08, depending on when you bought it). iWeb is great to publish your websites, as long as you're willing to purchase a $99/year membership to the .Mac service. If that's not your cup of tea, try RapidWeaver. It's about the same interface as iWeb, but allows you to publish to a host other than .Mac. Report back here with your experiences!

I like Coda or Dreamweaver depending on what you're looking for.

Thanks. I've been looking into Dreamweaver, of course. But, Coda I've no seen. I'll take a look.

If you did them in front page, I think Dreamweaver would be your best bet in managing them.

If you have to learn something new, it might as well be an industry standard. Dreamweaver would be a good choice, IMO.

Rapidweaver looks good but I haven't tried it yet.

I just use a simple text editor; skedit: www.skti.org.

Like someone else mentioned, I think Dreamweaver will be most Frontpage like.

If you bought a new Mac from Apple and it didn't include iLife08 then you are missing something, iLife08 :D

iLife 08 = iPhoto, iWeb, iDVD, Garageband, iMovie. There's no software as "iLife"

Anyway, you have to try Coda. It doesn't have wizzywig capabilities but it has the neatest interfaces and I don't mean in terms of eye candy. Really slick application if you are into hand coding and such.

OK, I don't have iphoto, iWeb, iDVD, Garageband, etc. Was it a trial pack or was it to be included with Leopard?

iLife comes with every mac out there. It's an important suite. While I don't think you want to use iWeb cause it's very basic, the other ones are really what make up your digital life. If you didn't get it, try your install discs, it should be in there.
