Installed 10.4.11 - now fan won't stop

I installed the update 10.4.11 for OS X and after I restarted the fan is whirring constantly VERY loudly and air is blowing out of the back - it's so bad I can't use the Mac. Is there a way to roll back to 10.4.10 without re-instaling os x altogether.

I have a 20" iMac.
