the fan on the left side of my macbook pro is always loud even when i am not running any applications. the fan speed stays at about 1000rpm but i can't understand why i can ALWAYS here the machine so audibly. i didn't always have this problem. the usb port on that side of the machine will ONLY work with a mouse. my speakers or headphones don't work in that port. any ideas or suggestions? i am out of the country so i won't get to take it to the mac store until next month.

which macbook pro do you have. specs?
the only thing that I can think of is that the hard drive is on the left side, and that kinda makes some noise
but that does not solve you usb and audio jack problem
