I am planning to make a switch from a PC to a Macbook (yay!). However my husband has a new PC laptop.

We would like to be able to share a printer, scanner and external hard drive (for backups).

I have looked at the Airport Extreme which solves the printer and hard drive issue but does not allow us to share the scanner without physically plugging into it.

I have looked at the Belkin Network USB Hub which would work for all three perhipherals but is not Mac compatible (PC only).

Is there a solution that is both Mac and PC compatible?

TIA,
Maz

Yup, check this out:

It basically tricks your computers into thinking that the USB devices that are connected to it, are actually hooked up via a local USB hub. It's a little pricey, but works well and has full Mac and Windows support.
