I upgraded to Leopard with a dl'd build of the final beta, but I can no longer access software update, i get a message that states "The file “index-leopard-seed-1.sucatalog” couldn’t be found on the server “swscan.apple.com”.

So i cannot access the software update. I tried to install a legit copy of leopard but it will only let me do an "ERASE AND INSTALL"

i do not want to nuke my comp. Any suggestions would be helpful

Unfortunately, we can't help you due to your illegal download and install of Leopard.

MHC, if he was a developer, he wouldn't be having this problem. ;)

Well, from the sounds of it, you are running a illegal copy of Leopard. So we can't help you.

So...I'm assuming you downloaded this illegally, since the beta is not available for download anymore. Especially since in the first place it was only available to developers....yea I'll stop here.

Buy leopard like everyone else.

You probably can't upgrade the beta version.

...and you should never use beta software on a production system. Especially not a beta OS...

I love people who do stupid, and illegal, things that mess up their systems. They act like it's our fault for poining out their own foolihness.

The reason I wonder what is up is I talked to a developer who got the Factory the day it came out and did an Archive and Install over his Developer version and it went fine.

Ok 'cuz you got contradicting info, you know? You obviously downloaded an illegal copy and you say you bought the upgrade version at Apple.... But... to get the upgrade version you have to buy a Mac after October 1st. So you bought a new Mac at the same time? Congrats!

Anyhow, looks like you'll have to erase that hard drive of yours.
