iMac G4 Black Screen???

Hey Ya'll,

So, I'm thinking about trading one of my laptops for a iMac G4. Only problem is the iMac has a faulty backlight inverter... you can only see the screen with a flashlight. Is this smart? and Is this an easy fix???
