firewire/usb cable?

Hi

I've lost my usb cable to connect my iPod video to my macbook. However, I have a firewire cable and charger with the universal iPod dock from another iPod. Will this work just the same (and possibly faster) than a usb connector?

The Firewire cable will only charge the iPod, so you won't be able to sync it. Not sure if it will charge any faster though.

ok thanks, I didn't think it would charge faster but thought it may be able to transfer faster than usb
