Hi,

Just got a mac and were playing around with it in work.

Just wanted to find out is there a way to network this to a windows domain and force user authentication through active directory. i.e. present the user with a logon screen that they log into with there nt accounts and access there directorys on the server.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

There are a few documents around, but while I was able to get OS-X 10.4.10 to let me into network shares & the like, it was next to impossible to print with it. So on Tuesday I took the plunge and bought Leopard. 3 hours later I was printing to my network print server.

For the better integration with AD alone, Leopard is worth the money.

Thanks

Not too worried about the printing at the moment but if you have any of the docs you speak of i would be very grateful.

Cheers for the reply

Sorry, I wasn't near my bookmarks before.
I found information on the following links to be helpful:
http://www.macwindows.com/tiger.html
http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20022821103215

But most importanlty, I found good information on several threads on this site just by using the search feature and searching for Active Directory or AD Printing, and other combinations. There's a huge amount of knowledge buried in the socializing on this site! ;-)
