I assume you've tried eyetv's built-in mpeg4 export?

well i didnt figure out how to export through eyetv but i did find the files and found out they were actually packages.. and if you open the package there is a mpg file that can be burned to a dvd.. i think atleast.

ok so i tried to burn the files and 'Burn' (freeware) quit during the burn. I tried converting them to mpeg4 using ffmpegX and it takes 1 second, says finished, but then i cant find the files.

Do you have the recording you want to export highlighted when you go to File > Export? The option will be grayed unless you choose which recording you are trying to export. Once you get there you should get a long list of export options including formats for specific devices or formats based on file type.

If you have Roxio Toast (good burning software) you can choose the "For Toast" option to make a file which you can immediately burn to DVD using Toast. Otherwise, choose whatever file type you want.
