If my computer sleeps will it continue torrent downloads?

When I'm downloading torrent files, I like to keep them downloading during the night/all day, even when I'm not at my computer, because torrents can take days to download.

If I set my computer to sleep after 15 minutes, will it stop the download, or will it not sleep if a download is going, or what?

What would be the best settings to use when I'm using Azureus and I'm not at my computer?

I always have the DISPLAY set to sleep, I just don't know what will happen if I have the whole computer set to sleep after a certain amount of time.

I have to be careful because my battery is already messed up and shuts itself down when there's around 30 minutes left if it's not plugged in.

Any advice would be awesome.
thanks.

I'm suprised that your battery only lasts 30 minutes?

How old is your MacBook and how many cycles has it been through?

U cud use a program called caffeine which stops it from sleeping :)

i dont have no mac's
if you are doing a lot of stuff at the same time a battery life of aproximately 30 minutes might shut itself off...plus downloading, surfing and doing other stuff all at the same time will chew up a battery no matter what compuer you are using.

regarding sleeping, your computer is basically off when it is sleeping.....just have the monitor turn off

Nope. usually it shuts off quite a few essential items. Hard Drive for one which would make downloading impossible. I didn't think the ram lost power though
