At the advice of Best Buy geek squad member, I purchased a Netgear Wireless G PCI adapter model WG311.

As of now, I don't think my mac is even recognizing the PCI card, though i installed it carefully. Perhaps i need a driver.

Does anyone have info on this card, or general advice on how to proceed? Supposedly, my Mac desktop running 10.4.7 will recognize it as an Airport or something, and it will work.

Thanks for any help.

A quick update, and am grateful for any help:

My System Profiler doesn't recognize my Netgear WG311 PCI card. I downloaded a wifi driver from orangewear: http://www.orangeware.com/endusers/wirelessformac.html

Still no dice in System Profiler. Also, in the orangewear preference panel it says No card inserted or no compatible card found.

The WG311T is a faster version of this card, and supported on the orangewear list of supported devices for this driver. Maybe that would work.

If System Profiler isn't seeing this card though, even as hardware, maybe something is wrong?

Thanks.
