file retrieval software

i have a junk music folder for stuff i want to maybe erase, and then a regular music folder for stuff i keep, i accidently deleted my regular music folder in my trashbin

i have mac os x, relatively new (6 months old), on a macbook pro

anyone know where any free downloads are of file retrieval software? (not trials that dont work)

i dont mean illegal either i mean kind of like "openoffice.org" as a free microsoft office

any help would be great
