I have a macbook 2ghz, not the most recent one.
When I put in the leopard cd, the drive sounds like its running and starts making the usual noise, but then it just quits spinning and after a few tries doing that, it just quits and ejects the cd! This is pissing me off and I have been on hold for an hour with applecare which I payed 300 ***! I've tried booting from the cd and it makes the same noise and just ejects. Please Help!!! I tried putting in regular cd's and they work fine. Just the leopard disc.

Try cleaning the disc. If it doesn't work, take it back and get another.

Have you tried a DVD that definately works, as opposed to a CD.

i dont have any dvds handy is there anything else you recommend?

OK, if this is a full retail, family pack edition of Leopard, works fine in another computer but not yours, then sounds like you have a bad DVD drive.

If, however, this is the Leopard DVD that came with your brothers MBP... it won't work with your MacBook and you should not be attempting to use it.

I think you're wasting your time with Applecare on this one.

They'll ask you to reboot, clean the DVD, try again and then tell you to take your machine in.
