Just purchased an iMAC and loving it...!!! However, when I clicked on iDVD and select "magic iDVD" the following message appears:

Not allowed to burn cd/dvd on this system

User is not allowed to burn to this device on this system. Please check with your administrator for the Parental Control settings.

How do I get rid of this...?

Thanks in advance.

Glad your loving it. Did you buy it new? Just wondering how parental block could be on if it was new...unless it was put on by the administrator...

can some help us? My friend bought a floor model (white) for 1249 with lepoard (excuse speling) but she has the same problem, I can't help her. Where do we look to change the settings so the lock can be removed?

Thanks guys for all your help - I think the best thing for me to do is to re-install as suggested - I really appreciate your help & I've fallen in love with the iMAC!;D

Glad you got it working :) and welcome to the forums.

Does this happen with all the brand new machines? cos that seems a little strange...

P.S. it's iMac, only the 'M' is capital :)
