1 stack broke.

I have a mini 1.66 2gb ram. 10.5 leopard.

My document stack works good. I click on it and it fans out. But the download stack doesn't do anything. Just refreshes the screen. If I right click and say open it opens but it refuses to fan out. And if I remove it fro the dock it just pops it self right back in. I can't remove the empty folder I put on the dock either.

Try restarting the dock. Open up a Terminal window and type in

killall Dock

If that doesn't work, try relaunching Finder through the Force Quit menu.

no good. even restarting the machine no good.

It sounds as though it can't find your downloads folder. Remove the folder from the dock and drag it back in from the Finder.

Removing the folder wouldn't work cuz it just popped it self back in 2 seconds later.

But it started working last night magically. Not sure why.

I waved my magic wand. Figured you wouldn't mind. Just to make sure, you did have something in the downloads folder, right? Only reason I ask is because the first thing I did was click on it after the upgrade but nothing happened. Then I realized nothing was in there.

Yes by default it come with about.pdf. And it opens.
